Teen Ambassadors Wanted!

[/et_pb_heading]

The McIntosh Memorial Library of Viroqua is seeking 5 volunteer Teen Ambassadors for the period of October 2025 to September 2026 to support its Books Unbanned Campaign. The Brooklyn Public Library is providing the grant funding. This grant enables McIntosh Memorial Library to join other libraries fighting for the rights of teens nationwide to read what they like, discover themselves, and form their own opinions. Inspired by the American Library Association’s Freedom to Read Statement, Books Unbanned is a response to an increasing effort to remove books from library shelves, namely books targeting race, racism, equity, and social justice.

The Teen Ambassador will have the opportunity to gain an understanding of the full scope of what it means to be a banned book advocate through this campaign.
