Big News (and Big Art!) Coming to Downtown Viroqua

Color us excited! The McIntosh Memorial Library is thrilled to announce that we’ve been awarded a Vibrant Spaces Grant from the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC)—and we’re putting that energy right into the heart of downtown Viroqua.

So, what’s the big idea? Say hello to the Viroqua Mural Walk!

This self-guided art adventure will highlight the seven (soon to be eight!) stunning murals that brighten up downtown Viroqua. Think of it as a walking tour with a splash of color and a whole lot of local pride. Even better? The journey kicks off right here at the library courtyard—soon to be transformed into mural walk HQ!

VIP Visit from WEDC

Last Thursday, we had the honor of welcoming Missy Hughes, Secretary of the WEDC, to the library as part of her tour of four local sites awarded funding. She got a firsthand look (and sneak peek) at our plans, thanks to the amazing Maggie Strittmater and Trina Erickson, who shared how the courtyard will evolve into the vibrant starting point of this public art experience.

Viroqua is already a gem, and with a little help from this grant, we’re making it even more dazzling—one mural at a time.
