Garden Tool Library
You can now check out tools from the library like you would a book. Here’s how it works:

- Find the tool in our catalogue
- Place a hold (holds are ready within 48h)
- Pick up the hold (will be held for you for up to a week)
Here are a few more hints about how to navigate the catalogue:
- If you’re looking for a specific tool, you can use the search bar. Just make sure you also include “MML Tool Library” in the search
- We have a paper copy of the tool catalogue at the circulation desk if that works better for you
Find us at the Viroqua Farmer’s Market
We’re at the Viroqua Farmer’s Market this 2026 season, every Saturday from 8am – 1:30pm. Come see the tools, get advice, and check out on-demand.
Borrowing Guidelines
Winding Rivers Library System (WRLS) card holders 18 years of age or older with full borrowing privileges are eligible to borrow tools (card must be up-to-date with outstanding fines under $10)
All borrowers are required to complete a waiver form. The waiver form must be signed annually and in front of a witness at the circulation desk.
Tool library Check out limit is 3 items per borrower. Only the borrower is authorized to use the tools checked out.
Lending period for tools is 7 days with the option of renewing if no other borrower has requested the item.
Place holds before arriving to borrow a tool. You may need to freeze your hold if you don’t want an item before a certain date. Library staff are happy to help you make a reservation or freeze your hold.
Return all Tool Library items to the circulation desk and not in the exterior drop box.
